Harmony With Nature

In ancient times, humans were intimately attuned to the environment for their most immediate and basic survival, and a type of innate wisdom prevailed: a wisdom that honored the sacredness of the Earth, and recognized the importance of humans maintaining the harmonious relationship through various rituals and ceremonies. These rituals were intended to balance the energies of one's environment: redeeming original intentions, making right what had been distorted, honoring the dead when passing, blessing the land prior to building, and performing ceremonies for all aspects of daily life. These ceremonies and rituals served to keep humanity in a state of harmony, balance and right relationship with the Earth and with the Heavens.

While today the concept of space clearing is usually thought of as a kind of "Spring cleaning" done yearly to spruce up our energetic environments, the roots of space clearing are ancient and universal.

Including references from ancient China, the concept of space clearing is found in the archives and traditions of all of the world's indigenous peoples from Celtic tribes in England and Europe, and Native American rituals, to ancient Vedic rituals in India, and Aboriginal ceremonies in Australia. It seems that humans have long sensed the need to keep in harmony and balance with the energies of their environment, as ancient peoples understood the interrelationship between humanity and its environment--that we affect one another proportionately.

Ceremonies represent humanity's age-old attempt to be in relationship with the unseen realms of Life on other dimensional levels, performed in large part to maintain harmonious and balanced relationship between humans and their environment. While the forms of these ceremonies are different, as they are adapted to each culture's time and place, the intentions and themes represented in them are universal. These themes are amazingly similar throughout the world. The ceremonies taught in this course are a distillation of major themes that run throughout these various global rituals, adapted to our modern day reality and lifestyles.

"I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving that he can outwit Nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority."
-- Essays of E.B. White

We are living in an historic time in which we are witnesses to a shift in planetary consciousness. The old paradigms, which have prevailed for centuries of domination, power, and control, are giving way to new paradigms of cooperation, co-creation, and living in harmony with nature, instead of dominion over Her. As such all fields of study and walks of life are reflecting these changes, with Feng Shui being no different. Breaking from the old rigid Patriarchical systems of control, and moving towards a more intuitive, Nature-based approach in which each and every person can "divine" from Nature directly how best to be in harmony with the Earth.
